Hello and welcome to Chehvani Rei, i'm an Interior Designer, Stylist and Art director. I've worked in Interiors and television for nearly two decades now from designing, managing and writing for property renovation shows to art directing reality shows and recently commercial fit outs.
The majority of what I do is within television and I love the versatility this offers and the range of people and places you encounter. This site is a very edited look at the projects i've worked on and I hope that very versatility is reflected in this range.
Much of the furniture you see has been designed and made with my sister company Creu and Create. Together we've recently collaborated with the stunning A Rum Fellow fabric and rug designers to fit out their Notting Hill Showroom.
We're based in Hove, East Sussex but work all over and always love to hear about new projects and commissions so please do get in touch!
My Story
I've always been intrigued by what it is that creates that sense of home, beyond decoration, what it is that creates that sense of comfort that's distinctly individual to each of us. My mother moved to the UK when she was 18 years old and I grew up in a house that reflected her heritage; where our neighbours had curtains she hung sari material on the windows and filled our home with rattan and tropical plants. Although she was miles from her family, she created that sense of belonging.
I've been inspired by this in my work and like to call myself more of an 'Interior coach' rather than a designer, encouraging my clients to tap into what really inspires and delights them... then I can help make it a reality!
I now live in Hove, East Sussex with my husband and three sons. My youngest son is autistic and i've begun to understand how his environment can be incredibly impactful to his feelings and emotions, so interior design has been my go too, adding sensory elements to his room and seeing how much joy it brings him!
I also work alongside my husband Omar and his custom furniture business Creu and Create, after 17 years in architecture he set up by himself and needless to say our projects have married together quite nicely.
